The achievement as depicted was
granted to the armiger's
father, the late Raymond Joseph Emile Chabot. The design cants on
chabot, a type of fish, and was based on the ancient arms of the
noble family of Chabot, d'or a trois chabots de gueules.
Additional elements commemorate the family's French Canadian ancestry
(fleurs-de-lis and maple leaves) and former residence in Connecticut
(grapevines).
