Mr. Constable has
proved his right to these arms (Pedigree; College of Arms) as a direct
descendant of Sir Robert Constable, Lord of Newark Castle, who married
Katherine Manners, daughter of George Manners, Baron ROS. Sir Robert
Constable was a son of Sir Marmaduke Constable, Lord of Everingham who
had both the Constable of Flambrough coat of Arms, also the ' golden
ship ' coat of arms.
These are the ancient arms of Constable of Everingham and Flamburgh,
Yorkshire (Burke’s General Armory and Foster's pedigrees).

1. Sir William Constable: In an Edward Ist Roll bore Quarterly, Vair
and Gules. Sir Robert bore the same with a bend engrailed Or (Nativity
Roll), though in the Parliamentary Roll the tinctures are reversed -
Gules and Vair. This coat is more often blazoned in the Rolls as :
Quarterly Gules & Vair a bendlet Or - For Sir John, Sir Marmaduke,
Richard and Robert.
2. Constable of Flamburgh, Yorkshire. In an Edward III Roll shows
Quarterly Gules and Vair a baton Argent across the Gules quarter.
3. Sir John (Knighted at the Fall of Calais 1348) bore Quarterly, Vair
