Below is an
iconic image of Jacques de
Molay from which Sculptured Crafts commissioned an original sculpture,
the results of which you can judge for yourself. For aesthetic
reasons they made the figure a bit less ‘portly’ than the image
and for production reasons they made the figure with both hands
on the sword. To produce a figure using the stance as in the
pictures opposite with one hand on the sword would court problems with his
arm getting broken off.
From this original sculpture, they produce a mould and from this
mould they produce the finished product. As with all their
figures, they are individually produced, hand finished and
hand painted by skilled craftsmen. This collectable Jacques de Molay
Templar figure
is approximately 11.5 inches tall (290mm) including the base.
The figures are resin cast from Sculptured Crafts original sculpture
and
are of solid construction weighing around 3lbs (1.5 Kilos),
they are not lightweight hollow ornaments but are collector’s
pieces.

Bronze & Marble Jacques
de Molay figures
Full size (as above) cold cast bronze and a marble version using a dry casting
white Carrara marble technique are also available priced at £118.00.
These two versions will come complete with mahogany veneer base, plaque
and inscription and price will include worldwide shipping.

As each Knight is individually cast and customised please allow 3 weeks for
delivery.
